Aquinas and the problem of love
A study on amor sui and love for God and men

There would seem to be an opposition between love of self, love of others and love of God. On the one hand, amor sui leads to individualistic selfishness; on the other, the self is forgotten in order to give oneself altruistically to others. However, a profound analysis of these different loves, such as the one we propose in this paper, following in the footsteps of Aquinas, shows their profound harmony and integration.
