Abstract

This research attempts to show the clear metaphysic qualification that Aquinas gives to the notion of being as supreme act, the act of acts. The work is divided in 2 parts that indicate crosswise the reception of classical though, mainly Platonic and Aristotelian, in the work of Aquinas. The first part encompasses the development of the intensive notion of esse as primum metaphysicum. The second one explains the reductio trascendentalis of all perfection in the actus essendi. These subjects are treated following in a concrete way the interpretation and exegesis of Italian philosopher Cornelio Fabro.
