Abstract

This paper outlines the main features of the proposal for interdisciplinary dialogue between philosophy and the human sciences in the thought of the Argentine philosopher Francisco Leocata. The author begins with Leocata’s description and critique of the positivist and neo-positivist program that attempts to reduce human sciences to the methodological canons of natural sciences. Then he points out the problems of eclectic, post-structuralist and critical-utopian interdisciplinary proposals. The author describes also the point of view of Leocata about the positive possibilities of hermeneutic rationality while noting the risks that may involve a disproportionate use of this type of rationality. Finally, the author argues that the path that takes Leocata to make this interdisciplinary dialogue is mainly in line with a renewed vision of Husserl’s phenomenology, philosophical anthropology and scientific psychology.
