Abstract

Second Vatican Council proposed the renovation of Christian life and theology in all its expressions. In the particular case of moral theology, there were
various proposals. In the present article we detain in the one presented by the young bishop Karol Wojtyla. In his work “Sources of Renewal” he proposes to consider the munus regale of the Christian believer as the foundation of Christian moral ethics. Analyzing the treatment of this concept in the Council, it is clear that the Wojtyla’s proposal opens very interesting ways to continue the task never ended of the expression of Christian ethics. Many years later, as Pope John Paul II, he uses the same concept to express the need that christians, in every field, actively promote the culture of life.
