The brief focuses on renaissance humanism, in order to analyze the concepts of dignity and freedom in the De dignitate hominis (1486) of Pico della Mirandola. While this text is taken as a paradigm of humanistic anthropological turnaround from scholasticism , however, we believe that this revaluation of man is not from itself but from God. We will analyze some of the “ voices” that are in Pico, such as Zoroaster , Hermes , Duns Scotus, which eventually merge into a conception of human dignity based on the relationship with God.
