Sor Leonor de Santa Maria Ocampo OP (1841-1900), born in Sañogasta (La Rioja) as Isora Maria Ocampo, lived her fi rst 26 years as a lay person in La Rioja and San Juan. Afterwards, as a dominican nun, she lived other 32 years in joyful devotion to God in the Monastery of Santa Catalina de Siena (Cordoba, Argentina). Her beatifi cation cause was fi rst submitted in Cordoba (1996-2008), where she died, and aft erwards in Rome (2014-2018). Pope Francis declared her Venerable in May of 2019, recognizing her life as virtueous to a heroic degree. A few days before that date, this conclusion was presented in the Symposium organized by the Institute of Historical Investigation of UNSTA, in San Pedro de Colalao (Tucuman). Th e present article was written in accord with the last investigations done for the canonical process and presents the following aspects: 1) Th e meaning and fruit that is expected of a beatifi cation process in the life of the Church; 2) Brief consideration of the argentine canonization processes: 3) Th e principal biographical data of Sor Leonor Ocampo; 4) Features of her human perfi le and her spiritual identity and 5) Her example and motivation for Christians of today.
